Bitzer establishes Iran subsidiary

Bitzer has opened a subsidiary company in Iran with the aim of expanding its presence in the country.

Bitzer has opened a subsidiary company in Iran with the aim of expanding its presence in the country.

The opening ceremony was held on 5th December at the Espinas Hotel in Tehran and was attended by selected business partners. The company also presented a cutaway model of its intelligent VARISPEED compressor with integrated frequency inverter.

Bitzer compressors have been well represented in the Iranian market for decades. Up to 500,000 running compressors are currently in use. The company currently manages customer and user support in Iran from its Middle East site in Dubai. The new subsidiary will report to Dubai. However, experienced sales partners who are familiar with local conditions will also continue to ensure the high presence of Bitzer’s compressors in the Iranian market.

Stefan Leitl, managing director Bitzer Middle East, said: “Bitzer doesn’t receive direct orders in Iran and this will not change in the future. As always, our reliable sales partners will be responsible for processing orders.”

He continued: “Over the decades, we’ve managed to establish a close relationship built on trust with our business partners, as we’ve always been available to provide our users with support, including in challenging political times. To ensure future success and, for instance, to enable Bitzer to expand its position in the transport industry and give support to other OEMs who import our compressors installed in their systems, we’re opening up the Bitzer Iranian subsidiary. We have every confidence in the future potential of Iran and would therefore like to get to know the market even better and establish a personal presence.”

With high technical standards and a growing population Bitzer believes Iran is one of the most important future markets. The Iranian market offers enormous opportunities for intelligent energy efficient products. Bitzer is developing a service concept tailored to Iran’s specific requirements, enabling the company to better support customers and users in terms of queries, maintenance and repairs in the future.

The company is also working closely with universities, institutes of technology and vocational schools to offer general and specialised training courses. In Iran, the reciprocating, screw and scroll compressors and condensing units provided by the long-standing German company are primarily used in supermarket refrigeration, food production, the fish and meat industry and the manufacture of dairy products, as well as in hospitals, hotels and office blocks.

With the foundation of the subsidiary, Bitzer also aims to take action against counterfeit compressors from China, which are being increasingly found on the Iranian market. Bitzer Iranian is available as a contact representative to system operators and business partners, helps determine the authenticity of compressors already purchased and establishes contact with official sales partners, whose customers can be assured that they have acquired a genuinel compressor.

The local representative is Sobhan Katebifar (pictured), resident engineer, tel: +98 (0)912 1693 916. The office address is: Unit 401, 4th Floor, No. 3, Eastern 11th St, Kaj Sq, Sa’adat Abad, 1998839847, Teheran, Iran.
