Specialist climate control distributor, Logicool Air Conditioning & Heat Pumps has expanded its operations due to continued growth and recently established a need for an air conditioning solution to provide improved indoor air quality and working conditions for its warehouse staff.
As Hitachi’s leading reseller in the UK, Logicool approached Hitachi for a solution. Hitachi’s newly launched Utopia ES split system was specified and installed in Logicool’s Swadlincote warehouse. The 6HP (RAS-6HVRNS3E) model with a cooling capacity of 14kW has been installed alongside an RPI-6FSN4E ducted indoor unit, enabling heated or cooled air to be distributed throughout the warehouse via a ductwork system. The indoor unit static pressure setting is completely adjustable (four settings including a zero static pressure option), and three fan speeds are selectable via the PC-ARFPE remote controller. Operating noise levels are low 29db(A) at low speed which means additional warehouse noise is kept to a minimum. Condensate removal is achieved via an in-built drain pump with a lift capacity of 850mm.
The Utopia ES range provides heating and cooling capacities from 7kW to 25kW and seasonal efficiencies (ESEER) up to 5.1 and (SCOP) up to 3.9.
Speaking about the Hitachi installation, Logicool Founder Karl Richardson said, “Having been in the industry for over 20 years, finding the right air conditioning solution for our warehouse was key. As a long-standing Hitachi reseller, we’re obviously impressed with Hitachi’s quality, and the new Utopia ES range provided us with an extremely well engineered solution.”
