Samsung agrees partnership deal with GT Phelan

Samsung Electronics UK has entered into an agreement with GT Phelan to distribute the brand’s air conditioning equipment throughout Ireland from this month.

The agreement does not cover air-to-water heat pumps as these are handled by another distributor.

With more than 30 years’ experience working with another industry-leading air conditioning brand, GT Phelan was a natural fit for Samsung’s range of air conditioning solutions. It considerably enhances the product offering from GT Phelan and also allows scope for new opportunities and greater market penetration. The companies have agreed a partnership deal, covering not just product distribution, but also support and training facilities.

Derek Phelan, sales director at GT Phelan, said: “Because of recent market developments the approach from Samsung was ideally timed and, given the extent and quality of the Samsung range, we see it as a perfect match to our current portfolio. We are extremely excited about this new partnership and contractors and end users already familiar with GT Phelan’s renowned level of technical support can rest assured that this same level of commitment will be applied to the Samsung range.”

He added: “We look forward with optimism to 2016 and the additional strength this new strategic development brings to our company”.

Charles McAlpine, air conditioning sales manager at Samsung Electronics UK and Ireland, said: “Samsung enjoys a global reputation as a renowned brand delivering quality and performance. Together with this new dedicated support channel through GT Phelan, we know that we’ll be well received in Ireland”.
