Pumps2go Ltd has been appointed the SICCOM distributor for its range of condensate pumps and associated products covering the UK and Eire.
The company is headed up by John Emm, a well-respected name in the UK refrigeration and air conditioning industry.
He has spent more than 52 years in the industry and has an in-depth knowledge of its markets and products. Until recently he was the UK & Eire business development manager for KRIWAN Industrie-Elektronik GmbH Germany, managing director of Dawmec, the UK's leading distributor of DWM Copeland products, based alongside sister-company Searle in Hampshire.
He is actively involved with a number of the industry's societies, institutions and associations and is a past chairman of the Equipment & Components Section of the British Refrigeration Society – FETA for a number of years.
He started his career as an air conditioning and refrigeration apprentice at Carter & Finmore Ltd (now known as Denco Ltd), later becoming service & installation engineer for the company. In 1973, John joined HTI Services Ltd (now known as J & E Hall) as senior service engineer managing the service, maintenance and installation of projects at the United Kingdom Atomic Establishment at Harwell, Oxfordshire.
In 1979, he joined Dean & Wood Ltd, became branch manager within a year and successfully managed the Southampton branch for eight years. Looking to enhance his knowledge of the refrigeration industry overseas, John joined Refrigeration House, Saudi Arabia as general manager in 1988.
Returning home in 1991, he joined Dawmec Ltd, the authorised distributor of DWM Copeland products in the UK and Eire. After nearly four years as sales & marketing manager, John was appointed managing director, where he remained before setting up Enetech Products Ltd in 2000, a bespoke compressor pack and unit manufacturer mainly for the retail sector.
In 2012 he was chosen to carry out a number of consultancy projects for the German compressor electronic controls manufacturer Kriwan Elektronik Industries GmbH based in Forchtenberg. This later lead to him becoming business development manager for the UK, a post he held until December 2015 before setting up Pumps2go Ltd.
He is the current chairman of the Hampshire Refrigeration Society and membership chairman of the Institute of Refrigeration. He has also served on the IoR Council.
