JAPANESE manufacturer Hitachi has announced that it is to merge its residential and commercial air conditioning businesses
While in Europe all Hitachi air conditioning products are sold by one company, in Japan and other parts of the world the business is split into commercial and residential operations: Hitachi Home & Life Solutions looking after residential ac and Hitachi Air Conditioning Systems looking after large ac systems including packaged air conditioning systems, chiller units and other products.

CHINESE air conditioning manufacturer Haier has established what it describes as a "unique partnership" with UK wholesaler Dean & Wood.
Under the terms of the deal, Dean & Wood will effectively become the distribution division for Haier's packaged air conditioning products, leaving Haier UK to concentrate on key accounts and soon to be introduced applied products like VRF and chillers.
