Alternative Refrigerants: Refrigerant conversion bears fruit

ACTING on the advice of its refrigeration contractor Dresdner Kuhlanlagenbau and DuPont Refrigerants, German harbour logistics company, Hamburger Hafen Logistik (AG) (HHLA) is already addressing forthcoming refrigerant legislation by initiating a pilot project to convert several refrigerated warehouses to the non-ozone-depleting Isceon refrigerant. It is the first company at the harbour development in Hamburg to do so.

Alternative Refrigerants: The natural choice?

THE European Union’s F-Gas Directive goes into effect in July 2007. Among other things, it stipulates that refrigeration and air conditioning facilities be regularly maintained and checked for leak tightness by qualified personnel. All service work must be continuously documented and traceable. The object of these regulations is to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases.

Honeywell moves to certify Chinese manufacturers

IN AN effort to combat R410A counterfeiters and protect its customers, refrigerant producer Honeywell has introduced a new certification programme for Chinese air-conditioner manufacturers. As holders of worldwide patents for R410A, Honeywell's new scheme identifies the manufacturers as licensed users of the refrigerant purchased from licensed suppliers.

Preston Group adds Gelfred products

COMPRESSOR remanufacturer the Preston Group has become the sole distributor in several European countries for the full range of Spanish manufacturer Gelfred's Gelpha range of semi-hermetic compressors, spare parts, ancillary equipment and condensing units. To support the range in the UK, the Preston Group has appointed Climate Center as sole UK distributor for Gelfred compressors.

The move comes following the recent announcement by Trimco Coolair1s Portuguese parent company, Trimco EF, that it had appointed Phoenix Retail Services, an independent company as exclusive UK agent for its products.
