Emerson opens new European centre

Global technology manufacturer Emerson officially opened its new €8m (US$ 8.4m) facility The Europe Solution Center in Aachen, Germany, for its Climate Technologies business on 8 December.

The Europe Solution Center is part of Emerson’s long-term strategy of developing integrated solutions to help companies address challenges facing Europe’s heating, cooling and refrigeration industry, such as increasing energy efficiency, promoting sustainability and improving system connectivity.

The ceremony was officiated by David N Farr, Emerson chairman and ceo, Jean Janssen, president of Emerson Climate Technologies Europe, and Marcel Philipp, Mayor of Aachen.

The new facility features a laboratory where engineers can work directly with customers to develop and test integrated solutions and advanced services. The state-of-the-art laboratory uses Emerson’s innovative compressor technology and electronic controls for residential and commercial heating and cooling systems and refrigeration systems, such as those used in supermarkets. The new facility also includes meeting and office spaces where Emerson plans to hold training sessions and workshops for its employees and its customers.

David N Farr said: “The new Europe Solution Center in Aachen for our Climate Technologies business is the latest milestone on our journey to support our customers in Europe. It is important for us to be positioned to help our European customers grow and prosper.”

The new Europe Solution Center further strengthens Emerson Climate Technologies presence in the Europe HVACR marketplace. The company currently operates five factories and four engineering centers in Europe focused exclusively on its Climate Technologies business.

Jean Janssen said: “Our goal is to take our commitment to technology, innovation and customer service in Europe to the next level, and create an environment where creativity and open-mindedness are encouraged. We want to design and deliver solutions in cooperation with our customers to master the HVACR industry´s challenges of today and tomorrow.”

Guided tours gave guests an insight into the new facilities, their high-tech testing and measurement equipment, and enhanced capabilities for serving Emerson’s European customers in the heating, cooling and refrigeration industry.
