Yorkshire-based PAR Services was contracted to upgrade the old unit at the Eco Power Stadium in Doncaster, which had failed. The failure meant the football club had to discard a significant amount of beer which was rendered unfit for sale, causing a financial impact for the club.
J & E Hall's CellarPlus cooling system provided a cost-effective and reliable replacement. The system was fitted on the wall of the cellar to optimise floor space whilst ensuring maximum storage capacity for beer and drinks.
Michael Abbey, Company Director at PAR Services, said: 'We chose J & E Hall's cellar cooling system for this project because of its energy efficiency and even air distribution, hugely improving the cooling output compared with the old and inefficient system.'
The 8KW single evaporator cellar cooling system has a three-phase outdoor condensing unit, to enhance energy efficiency. The system operates using low GWP refrigerants R448A or R449A, keeping the club's beverage offering fresh and at the optimum temperature of 4°C for sale.
Paul O'Brien, Regional Sales Manager at J & E Hall, said: 'We're delighted that our cooling system has been installed at the stadium. We're confident that it is the right product for the job, with its proven energy efficiency credentials.'
'Old cellar cooling systems can get more expensive to run as time goes on. With energy costs continuing to rise, the new J & E Hall cooling system should have a significant impact on the club's long-term cooling costs.'
