Bosch launches into UK air conditioning market

Bosch Commercial and Industrial is entering the UK air conditioning market with the launch of a new Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) range.

Bosch Commercial and Industrial is entering the UK air conditioning market with the launch of a new Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) range.

The company says that each of its new high-efficiency systems delivers heating and cooling simultaneously for domestic properties through to large commercial buildings; offering an extremely efficient way to manage heating and cooling comfort.

The Bosch Climate 5000 VRF, which forms part of the VRF offering, has a wide scale of outputs ranging from 8kW to 200kW. Designed to maximise energy efficiency, the heat recovery system boasts an Energy Efficiency Rating (EER) rating of 7.0 at 50 per cent load (8HP) and a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) of up to 8.0. Each module’s ability to provide continuous heating whilst simultaneously performing a defrost cycle, enables performance in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 48 °C.

The VRF is available in three formats: the SDCI Series – Bosch’s All Inverter Heat Pump, the RDCI Series – an All DC Inverter Heat Recovery system, and the MDCI Series – Bosch’s Mini VRF Heat Pump.

Super-efficient inverter-driven compressors within the RDCI (All DC Inverter Heat Recovery) and SDCI (All DC Inverter Heat Pump) series maximise reliability and allow each system to operate with up to 1,000m of pipework. Meanwhile, the design and patent of an innovative air cooling technology for the inverter module allows more effective cooling of electrical components for better all-round performance.

A pioneering fan design on the larger units within the range enables Bosch to offer boosted overall performance, a 14.3 per cent increase air volume and up to a 4dB reduction in noise level.

Business development director at Bosch Commercial and Industrial, Geoff Hobbs, said: “Consultants, contractors, architects and specifiers within the building services industry are increasingly faced with the challenge of recommending and installing flexible heating and hot water systems with the ability to maximise efficiency. With this in mind, we’ve taken the decision to introduce a VRF system which offers maximum heating and cooling comfort efficiently, and on a large scale.”

He added: “Our decision to enter the UK air conditioning market means those working within the sector can rely on the expertise and experience of a global brand with a wealth of knowledge of the UK building services sector.”
