The UK refrigerant market according to Climalife

In a February webinar hosted by Climalife, with guest Mark Hughes from Chemours, the UK Refrigerant market was the main topic of conversation.

Managing director Allan Harper talked of some changes coming out of BREXIT since the start of 2021, such as mainland trading with Northern and Southern Ireland and the more positive road ahead with the rolling out of UK vaccines and longer-term economic situation.

Highlighting the 29% cut in quota from the 1 January 2021, and a further 31% coming in three years’ time, Allan urged the market to move faster in adopting the use of new low GWP refrigerants and to move away from the high GWP refrigerants.  He expressed concern over the speed to move to lower GWP refrigerants and how Quota could prove to give the UK refrigerant market challenges in 2021 if we do not accelerate the transition to lower GWP refrigerants.

Dave Richards, head of sales in the UK talked of short-term lower GWP refrigerant solutions and both Climalife technical director, Peter Dinnage and Chemours business development manager, Mark Hughes talked of future low GWP refrigerant strategies, products, support and the importance of the shift.

As a summary to the webinar, Climalife have produced a list of their 10 Key Takeaways from the webinar.  You can also watch the full recording on the Climalife YouTube channel. https://youtu.be/hvLTkfhPQ34
