TOSHIBA Carrier UK has for the first time intimated that it is on the verge of appointing new distributors.
Speaking after the news that its exclusive distributor HRP had acquired 3D Air Sales, the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries distributor (see ACR News Dec p3), Toshiba commercial director, David MacRae said 'It is very important to have both wholesale distribution and a group of specialist distributors able to provide technical expertise on our most sophisticated equipment.'
He then revealed that new specialist Toshiba distributors would be announced after TCUK's annual sales conference in December. TCUK has refused to comment on speculation as to the identity of the new distributors but one is rumoured to be Hertfordshire-based AMP which is currently working out its contract with Mitsubishi Electric.
Richard Ward, Carrier Commercial Director, added 'This new agreement is part of the multi-channel brand strategy that Carrier needs for our very broad portfolio of products. The different categories of product need different types of sales and support. I will be making several announcements in coming weeks about new plans to increase availability to customers of different products in this well-segmented market.'
ACR News will reveal all in our January issue, due out December 20th.
