Retrofit Meets: University Estates - Panasonic to present retrofit success at Retrofit 24 panel

As part of its showcase at The Building Centre’s Retrofit 24 exhibition, Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions Ltd is highlighting how its technologies can help achieve decarbonisation of heating for residential and commercial projects. As part of the Retrofit Meets talks programme, Panasonic’s Emily Charalambous and Guy Ransom, Commercial Director of Finn Geotherm, will be taking part in a discussion panel, Thursday 2nd May exploring the considerations required in retrofitting University Estates. These buildings accommodate thousands of people and need to fulfil various functions from; providing office space, teaching rooms, study spaces as well as socialising areas such as; collaborative work spaces and hospitality.

Retrofit Meets is an in-person series of panel events bringing together experts in the built environment.?These are held in the seminar suites of the Building Centre. Chaired by Aylin Orbasli, a professor of Architecture at Oxford Brookes University, this panel will explore the retrofit of university buildings. Emily, National Key Account Manager of Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions Europe, will speak alongside other industry experts in the seminar, ‘Retrofit Meets: University Estates’.

The session includes experts from Panasonic - working closely with Finn Geotherm - Eckersley O’Callaghan and Hawkins\Brown- who retrofitted the University of West London, London South Bank University and The Bartlett School of Architecture respectively- will detail how they initially approached the brief and how they achieved their outcomes.

In her role at Panasonic Heating & Cooling, Emily covers all Public Sector projects including Social Housing and NHS/MOD projects and plays an active role in helping Public Sector organisations to reach their Net-Zero targets, whilst also providing high quality building stock.

Through retrofit technology in the HVAC industry, such as Panasonic’s cascade control, large university buildings can make an impact in sustainable heating and cooling solutions without compromising on overall efficiency; a key example of this retrofit success is Panasonic’s heating solution in Paragon House which can be seen within the Panasonic display at The Building Centre’s Retrofit 24.

‘Retrofit Meets: University Estates’ will run from 6-7:30pm next Thursday 2nd May at the Building Centre in London. To book a place, visit: Retrofit Meets Tickets
