Refrigerated winter sports centre set for Suffolk

PLANNING permission has been granted for a huge refrigerated winter sports centre in Suffolk that would include an indoor ski slope and an external ice rink.
Dubbed SnOasis, the development would see specially manufactured snow produced at the arena to ensure a year-round winter feel, with facilities for 14 different winter sports.
The project, estimated to cost in the region of £350 million, is planned for a derelict brownfield site - a former cement works in Great Blakenham - and proponents believe the move would have huge advantages by providing a state-of-the-art training facility for Britain's future Winter Olympic competitors.
