New survey reveals best air conditioning firms to work for

According to a new survey by specialist HVAC recruitment consultants Thornhvac, sales professionals in the air conditioning sector prefer to work for companies that offer good service and technical support.

The research revealed that service, product quality and brand presence were felt to be the most important qualities of a good employer. Good management and product availability were also considered to be important by almost a third of respondents.

Rob Bryan of Thornhvac, said the survey findings also listed the manufacturers that were felt to be the leading employers in the sector, with Mitsubishi, Airedale and Daikin coming top followed by Toshiba in fourth place and Carrier in fifth.

He said: “It will come as no surprise that the biggest and best known brands in the sector are also ranked as the best to work for, particularly when sales engineers believe brand, service and product range are the things that make an employer stand out. The research also showed that sales people working for smaller companies often found it hard to compete against the top manufacturers, particularly as customers often preferred to stick with familiar brands.”

He added: “Many reported experiencing a reluctance within the construction industry to deal with newer and less well-known alternatives.”

Mr Bryan said Thornhvac was planning to expand its research into the top HVAC employers. “The feedback from sales engineers on their perceptions of the top brands, which are the best to work for and why gives an interesting snapshot of the current market and we intend to repeat this research on a regular basis across the entire HVAC sector.”
