GK Industrial's Scotia Energy purchase aids expansion

Air conditioning specialist GK Industrial has continued its expansion with the acquisition of Scotia Energy Saving Systems.
Doncaster-based firm GK Industrial bought Scotia Energy for an undisclosed sum and plans to broaden its customer base and strengthen its geographical coverage.

Headquartered in Glenrothes, Scotland, Scotia Energy supplies and maintains air conditioning, refrigeration, heating and ventilation systems throughout Scotland and the North of England.

The existing management team and staff, headed by managing director Phil Vaughan will remain in place, reporting to GK's managing director David Goldberg.

GK Industrial offers national heating, ventilation and air conditioning solutions; including installation and maintenance to the retail, public and commercial sectors. Its customers include high street giant Next. It is subsidiary of ID Support Service Holdings (IDSS) which employs over 150 people and offers support services to customers in the retail, leisure and commercial sectors.

GK Industrial managing director David Goldberg said 'Scotia Energy is a long standing business with turnover in excess of £5m and a very impressive client base spanning local authorities, hospitals, universities, retail, leisure and commercial sectors.

Established in 1980, Scotia Energy employs more than 60 staff.
Scotia Energy managing director Phil Vaughn said 'When we realised that GK Industrial were already a leader in the air conditioning industry and were very similar to ourselves in operation and in providing a quality service, it was easy for us to make our decision to join such a successful business.

'Being part of a larger organisation secures the future of the company and the employees, and gives us greater opportunities to expand our already successful business.'
