Are you a talented apprentice or student in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry with a thirst to learn more and a desire to show the world what you’ve got? Or perhaps you are an employer, trainer or teacher that knows an individual with an exemplary skill-set? If so, SkillFRIDGE could be the perfect boost for a career in this indispensable industry.
The ACR sector offers many rewarding career opportunities for people with the right motivation and skills. After all, air conditioning and refrigeration has a huge impact on daily life and incorporates so many different disciplines, including electronics, engineering, plumbing and IT, to name but a few.
Industry giant Toshiba is the lead brand sponsor of SkillFRIDGE, the national refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump competition. It forms part of the WorldSkills UK portfolio, a government led initiative designed to champion apprenticeships and technical skills development programmes.
The competition is aimed at apprentices and students studying up to Level 3 RACHP. If you fit the part, you will have the chance to compete in an exciting and pressurised environment to demonstrate your knowledge and skills.
Registrations are in March each year. Qualifying heats will begin during the registration period and will be held in colleges and training centres, allowing you to show off your talent in an accessible and familiar environment. The final will take place in November as part of The Skills Show. Additionally, success at the national final could lead to an invitation into the WorldSkills UK international competition cycle.
SkillFRIDGE is a fantastic chance to really discover your full potential and determine the exciting opportunities your skills can bring to the world of work.
