Embraco to build compressor factory in Mexico

COMPRESSOR manufacturer is to build a factory in Monterrey, Mexico, to produce its high efficiency EM hermetic compressor for domestic and small commercial applications.
The company is also expanding the production capacity of energy efficient compressors at its factory in China, and its Slovakia plant will introduce a line dedicated to this type of product in the first quarter of 2011.

The new factory in Mexico will be up and running in August 2011 with approximately 500 employees and a production capacity of 2.5 million compressors per year. Total investment by 2013 will be $90m, when the company will reach full capacity of 5 million units and staff numbers will increase to nearly 1,000.
