ECEX releases free site access guide

A free, comprehensive guide to safe and effective site access has been published by leading multi-specialist engineering contractor ECEX.

The importance of safe and effective access is addressed in ECEX's free-to-download guide.

The illustrated guide, entitled Access all areas, explains how access is a critical contributing factor to the safety of building services and maintenance engineers who install and service plant on roofs and other hard-to-reach areas.

Access all areas describes how to assess the risk and select appropriate access equipment as well as outlining relevant legislation and explaining EN 1090, a mandatory standard for any organisation that designs or manufactures structural or construction steel or aluminium components such as pipework step-overs, platforms and railings, walkways and gantries, and access staircases. It also contains a comprehensive contact list of useful organisations.

John Grenville, managing director of ECEX, said: “ECEX has a wealth of experience and expertise in creating effective access solutions developed over many years, so we are well placed to offer the best help and advice available on the topic.”

He added: “ECEX employs a team of highly skilled metalwork fabricators, operating from its workshop in Newbury, who can survey and design bespoke metalwork solutions, whatever the issue. We offer free site assessments and quotations tailored to customers’ needs.

“Whether you require an access ladder, platform, gantry or roof edge guard railings, our experts can survey, quote, manufacture, install, modify or refurbish access safety equipment as required.”
