Beehive celebrates half century

Family-run company Beehive Coils will soon be celebrating 50 years in business.

Beehive Coils was established by Frederick J Bartram on 29 January 1968 in Newmarket.

As the company grew, it relocated backwards and forwards between Newmarket and Mildenhall into larger facilities as the years went by, before reaching settling at its current base in Newmarket in the early 1990s.

Since then, it has expanded its manufacturing capabilities and capacity year on year and is now able to design and manufacture a wide array of different tube sizes and configurations to suit any requirement.

Director and grandson of Frederick J Bartram, Mark Bartram said: “For a family manufacturing company which has been running over 50 years to remain as strong and ever present in the UK HVACR industry is certainly a substantial achievement in this day and age.

“I believe Beehive’s continued success and prominence in the UK market is thanks to the tenacious attitude of both my grandfather and father over the years, ensuring that we are company who is totally focused on providing the best service and product possible to our customers at the best price achievable – whilst retaining the incredibly high quality standard we are and have always been renowned for.”

Having produced over 3.5 million coil products during the course of its 50 years, Beehive is continuing to invest in new and more advanced tooling, fin presses, and bending machinery, along with staff excellence training programmes to give them the capacity and experience to design and manufacture many different tube configurations for their products, ranging from 7 mm tube up to 5/8”.

2018 is already shaping up to be a milestone year for Beehive, with significant new developments ready to be rolled out over the coming months.
