BAC staff recruited as Mitsubishi denies direct sales rumours

FOLLOWING last month's exclusive in ACR News that Mitsubishi Electric had terminated its distribution deal with BAC, the Japanese manufacturer has again denied that it is to go direct.
'We still see great value in providing a choice to our customers in the way they do business with us and contrary to the current bout of rumours, Mitsubishi Electric is not looking to go to 100% direct sales,' maintained Mitsubishi Electric commercial director, Chris Harthman.
The termination of the distribution agreement with BAC leaves Mitsubishi Electric with two nationwide wholesalers (Dean & Wood and Kooltech) and a sales agent (ACS), in addition to its own direct sales network.
The apparent demise of BAC has seen Mitsubishi Electric recruit virtually all of BAC's sales, sales support and after-sales support staff, including BAC's managing director Gary Caine and former sales director, John Stockton.
