ACR News Awards – celebrating and inspiring fresh talent

With entries well underway for the 2019 edition of the ACR News Awards, companies are invited to submit their innovative products, projects and cases of excellence before Friday 19 October 2018.

The 2019 Awards features a simplified entry process and seven new categories – creating even more opportunities for celebrating brilliant products, extraordinary companies and remarkable individuals across the air conditioning and refrigeration industry.

Why enter?

The benefits of entering the longest running and most prestigious ACR awards event extend well beyond the chance to pick up an acclaimed trophy at the Awards ceremony, taking place at London’s Tower Hotel on Thursday 21 March.

From a business perspective, companies entering the ACR News Awards enjoy maximum visibility in the sector. In addition to the significant publicity generated across a variety of platforms, increased brand awareness and promotion of their products, being involved in the event can also elevate their profile; opening doors to new contracts and supply channels.

For those looking to cement their reputation at the forefront of the market, the Awards also acts as an independent endorsement of their work or products. Not only can this unique seal of approval accelerate growth by providing access to new investors or partners, but it represents recognition for teams and individuals; meaning a boost for morale, motivation and increased productivity.

More chances to win

For 2019, two new ‘voted for’ categories, ‘Website of the Year’ and ‘App of the Year’, will be decided by an industry vote alongside the established ‘Wholesaler/Distributor of the Year’ and ‘Service Engineer of the Year’ (sponsored by Smith Brothers Stores) awards.

Meanwhile, fresh ‘judged’ categories include ‘Chiller of the Year’, ‘Heat Pump of the Year’, ‘Retail Product of the Year’, ‘Retail Project of the Year’ and ‘Building Energy Management Project of the Year’, which join the returning; ‘Air Conditioning Product of the Year’ (sponsored by PACAIR), ‘Air Conditioning Ancillary Product of the Year’ (sponsored by Hitachi Air Conditioning), ‘Refrigeration Product of the Year’, ‘Refrigeration Ancillary Product of the Year’ and ‘Trainee of the Year’ (sponsored by Hawco).

Also among the returning categories for this year’s event cycle is the highly coveted ‘Alan Moor Award’, which is once again sponsored by Bitzer.

Kevin Glass, managing director of Bitzer UK and IOR president elect, said: “The ACR News Awards has become established as one of the highlights of the industry calendar, putting a much-needed focus on excellence, in terms of both technology and customer service, values that reflect our own priorities as a company.

“We are particularly proud that the event honours Alan Moor through the award established in his name. In providing a national stage to showcase the best the industry has to offer, the Awards highlights examples of good practice that will hopefully inspire others – and in particular the next generation of engineers and designers on whom the future of the industry depends.”

Show your support for industry excellence

Smith Brothers Stores – sponsoring the ‘Service Engineer of the Year’ award – is the latest company to back the ACR News Awards, joining Bitzer, Hawco, Hitachi Air Conditioning, Pacair, Advanced Engineering, First Choice Catering Spares, Fixxy, Pure Air, Pump House, Samsung and Toshiba.

Adrian Smith, marketing manager at Smith Brothers Stores, said: “With the recent recruitment of specialist ancillary staff to support our Daikin sales, we felt supporting the ACR News Awards was a great opportunity to tangibly show our commitment to – and invest in promoting – the industry.

“With such changing times in the world of air conditioning, especially around technology and refrigerant, the awards give us all a great opportunity to take a breather, socialise with our peers and celebrate the hard work of both individuals and businesses.”
