A-Gas signs SBTi commitment for GHG emissions reduction

A-Gas has signed up its Green House Gas (GHG) emission targets to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), which aims to provide a clearly defined path to reduce its emissions in line with the latest climate science to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement.

By joining this initiative, A-Gas reaffirms its commitment to reducing its GHG emissions and furthermore realising its purpose of protecting and enhancing the environment by effectively managing the lifecycle of refrigerants to build a sustainable future. The company has set a target of reaching net-zero by 2035, intending to achieve a 50% emission reduction by 2028.

These targets bring the company’s stated emission reduction ahead of those mandated by the SBTi and kicks off a two-year process to have targets and emission reduction plans validated and approved by SBTi in order to meet all current and future regulatory reporting requirements.

A-Gas’s Towards Zero, Together pledge operates worldwide and encompasses the company’s dedication to reducing all possible emissions and preventing refrigerant leaking into the atmosphere through services such as Rapid Recovery.

A-Gas Group CEO Jack Govers said: “We understand that addressing climate change requires collective action and unwavering commitment beyond mere rhetoric. I am delighted to commit our GHG emissions reduction plans to SBTI which directly aligns with our goal of becoming a net-zero organisation.”
