TF Solutions tournament raises funds for hospice

TF Solutions, the air conditioning and refrigeration distributor, has raised almost £5,000.00 for the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice Trust through a football tournament.

TF Solutions, the air conditioning and refrigeration distributor, has raised almost £5,000.00 for the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice Trust through a football tournament.

Taking place at St. Georges Park, the official training home of the England football team, The Ice Men teamed up with Fujitsu General UK to host the event which combined a five-a-side tournament with a special charity auction dinner presented by former premier league referee Jeff Winter. The event’s other sponsors were Pump House, Lawton Tubes, National Refrigerants, Aspen Pumps, Armacell, J&E Hall and Cable World Ltd.

More than 70 guests were invited to take part in the tournament itself, which saw players battle it out in a ten team, five-a-side format. Embracing a Euro 2016 theme, each team was designated a country as its name with victory ultimately being awarded to Portugal after a close-fought epic final match.

Andy Cherrill, director at TF Solutions, said: “It was a fantastic day with some really competitive games played for a very worthy cause. This was the second time we’ve hosted a football tournament at St. George’s Park, and once again we were delighted with how the matches played out and the effort put in by customers, suppliers and colleagues alike, we can’t thank everyone enough for attending the event and being such good sports.”

The day culminated with a charity auction dinner at the on-site Hilton Hotel, with former Premier League referee Jeff Winter providing the evening’s entertainment.  Jeff’s anecdotal tales and unique style of auctioneering helped TF Solutions secure the much needed funds for The Donna Louise Trust on the night as guests fought it out to bid for a range of football and sports memorabilia including a signed Leicester City shirt from the Premier League-winning squad and a David Beckham signed England shirt.

Nick Wilks, national distribution sales manager from Fujitsu General UK said: “Fujitsu were honoured to be asked and proud to sponsor one of our valued Distributors and in turn support such a worthwhile cause as Donna Louise. Everyone who attended the event enjoyed the day and a great sum was raised for the charity.”

Last year, TF Solutions partnered up with Fujitsu General UK and Lawton Tubes to donate a £30k air conditioning system to the hospice, and previous fund-raising efforts have seen The Ice Men conquer Mount Snowdon and take on the Three Peaks Challenge.
