Steve Gill joins BJA management team

BJA’s principal partners, Alan Jackson, Jim McPhun and Chris Williams, said they were delighted to have added Steve to the BJA management team.

Consultant Steve Gill of Stephen Gill Associates has joined the management team of Refrigeration Engineering Consultants BJA.

BJA’s principal partners, Alan Jackson, Jim McPhun and Chris Williams, said they were delighted to have added Steve to the  BJA management team.

The award-winning refrigeration consulting engineers firm based in Holmfirth has been successfully offering refrigeration design solutions and providing support and advice to clients since 1993. It is one of the largest consultancies best known as a specialist in the retail sector, although it also undertakes projects across a wider range of applications including industrial projects and air conditioning.

Established in 1993, BJA provides a range of services covering ‘new build’ or refit projects, service and maintenance requirements, performance monitoring, troubleshooting and advice in legal disputes.

BJA partner Jim McPhun said: “We are delighted to welcome Steve to the management team.  We are expanding beyond our traditional customer base and Steve brings with him a wealth of industry experience to assist with this expansion particularly in the industrial and food production sectors”.

Steve Gill is a well-known industry figure as the incoming IOR President and head of the multi-award winning consultancy Stephen Gill Associates.

He said: “I am excited to be working with BJA. Their national coverage and deep range of experience enables them to offer a quality service. Both BJA and Stephen Gill Associates (SGA) are well-known, long established, independent, multi-award consultancies with strong reputations for innovative and original thinking in providing advanced technological solutions to solve their clients long and short term cooling requirements.”

Chris Williams said “BJA and SGA largely work in different sectors of the RAC industry, with BJA working predominately in the UK Retail sector, and SGA working in the industrial sector. While these sectors are extremely different in many ways, there are common factors such as energy efficiency, inspections and audits, compliance, health and safety, and refrigerant change that have enabled BJA and SGA to collaborate together, so it is a natural progression to invite Steve to become more involved in our business development”.

Jim McPhun added “Both BJA and SGA will continue to operate as separate businesses but with this closer working relationship, we are both far better placed to address the challenges our clients are facing.  Working together will make us stronger, greatly expanding our reach in terms of quality services to clients.

Steve’s appointment adds to an already strong management team at BJA following the recent internal promotions of Stuart Bonner, Katy Nightingale, and Kevin Halliday.

BJA and SGA were joint shortlisted finalists at the recent ACR News Awards.
