Seven Panasonic Jet Air Stream 25kW units were specified and installed by Aura Air Conditioning, a Panasonic Pro Partner. The Smart model units use self-directing nozzles that respond to incoming air temperature, helping to reduce heat loss and maintain temperature in occupied zones by limiting stratification.
AirHop Gloucester opened on 11 July 2025 during a 33°C heatwave, providing an immediate test of the system’s cooling capacity. Dylan Southern, Projects Manager at AirHop, said: “The units were really put to the test during our opening week in the extreme heat. We were impressed with their performance and the comfortable environment they maintained for visitors.”
The Jet Air Stream units are designed for large-volume spaces such as sports halls and warehouses. Available in three configurations and two capacities (14kW and 25kW), they can be integrated with building management systems. Each unit offers an air throw distance of up to 30 metres and a maximum air volume of 5,000m³/h.
Installation required scaffold towers to reach mounting points, but the project was completed on schedule. Lee Brownlie of Aura Air Conditioning noted: “The Panasonic units met the brief—energy-efficient, cost-effective, and responsive. Panasonic’s support throughout the project, particularly from Account Manager Ross Gerrard, was appreciated. We plan to use the same equipment at AirHop’s upcoming Tunbridge Wells and Nottingham sites.”
For the Nottingham venue, Aura also plans to install Panasonic VRF split systems in the dining area to provide zoned climate control.
Southern added: “Keeping customers cool in summer is just as important as keeping them warm in winter. Families came in during the hot weather to cool down, knowing our indoor activities aren’t affected by the weather outside.”
Aura Air Conditioning offers an extended seven-year warranty on Panasonic units as part of its Pro Partner status.
