Looking to move away from fossil fuels and move towards a more energy-efficient business model, eblast sought a sustainable solution that would complement its paint curing business for products and components used in the renewable sector, including wind turbines and wind farms. Requiring a solution that met the specific temperatures required for their facility, eblast replaced its old kerosene gas-fired heating with eight 25 kW Panasonic Jet Air Stream units. The system, which has an overall capacity of 200 kW, has already resulted in cost savings and has reduced CO2 emissions for the company by 118 tonnes per annum.
Dugie McKerrow, Director at DFM Technical Services, commented: “The Panasonic Jet Air Stream units were the best solution for this project. Our client, Clancool, did not need to install any ductwork, which helped with installation cost savings. As part of the project, we calculated that the use of Panasonic Jet Air Stream units would reduce the company’s CO2 emissions, and that sourcing their power from a green energy supplier would eliminate the full 302 tonnes of CO2, otherwise generated by burning kerosene from the original units.”
Clancool Refrigeration has been installing Panasonic’s heating and cooling solutions for approximately 15 years and has a good relationship with the Panasonic team. As a Pro Partner, Clancool Refrigeration has completed Panasonic’s accredited training and, as a result, can offer an extended 7-year warranty to its customers.
Discussing his decision to install Panasonic’s Jet Air Stream, David Watt of Clancool Refrigeration commented, “The Jet Air Stream units have eyeball diffusers to direct, position and point the air stream either manually or automatically to specific spaces within a building for precise temperature control. The units are a good solution for large, hard-to-heat or cool commercial and industrial spaces.”
Neil McDonald, CEO of eGroup, commented, “So far we have found the system to be very fast at heating the facility, and in particular we have appreciated how easily adjustable the system is, and it looks to be very efficient. In fact, we have been so impressed with the Panasonic system that we are considering changing out all of our heating throughout our entire site to the Panasonic Jet Air Stream units”.
The Jet Air Stream Indoor Units come in three variations – smart, standard, and ducted – with two capacities (14 and 25 kW). The units’ controls can easily be linked together for control and maintenance purposes, and also link to a BMS system to deliver an energy-saving solution for year-round heating and cooling in large and high spaces.
The Jet Air Stream Smart range ensures optimal comfort by preventing heat loss, as nozzle movements adapt dynamically to incoming air temperature to avoid stratification and to maintain an ideal temperature exclusively in the occupied area. The Panasonic Jet Air Stream delivers high air volume up to 5.000m³/h and a long maximum air throw distance of 30m. It is equipped with energy-efficient EC fans and offers advanced touch panel control features.
