The visit included meetings with senior leaders and tours of departments such as Marketing, Digital, HR, and Health & Safety. Discussions focused on how Wolseley is adapting to industry shifts, particularly in renewable technologies, digital innovation, and workforce development.
A central topic was Wolseley’s Renewables Centre, which offers training and design support for low-carbon systems, including heat pumps. The initiative is helping to close the skills gap in the HVAC sector by equipping tradespeople with the expertise needed to meet growing demand for sustainable heating and cooling.
“From investing in training and digital innovation, to helping our customers navigate the shift toward renewables, we’re proud of the role we play both locally and nationally,” said Simon Gray, CEO of Wolseley Group. “Engaging with policymakers like Matt is vital as we continue to contribute to the rapidly evolving future of the sector.”
Western commented: “It’s great to see a business like Wolseley, headquartered here in Warwickshire, leading the way in supporting the trade sector. Their work to upskill tradespeople and adapt to emerging technologies shows real leadership.”
