British companies stand by HFO chiller development
THE British companies behind the development of the first chillers to run on the new "fourth generation" HFO refrigerants are forging ahead with their plans despite claims from Danfoss Turbocor that its compressor has not been validated to use with these new gases.

Trading Standards taking little action over the EPBD
LITTLE or no action is being taken to enforce the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, according to accreditation company Quidos. The regulations require that all air conditioning systems with an effective rated output of more than 12kW must be regularly inspected by an energy assessor.

Sales boost for LG but no bid for Goodman
LG Air Conditioning saw worldwide sales increase by 50.5% in the last quarter of 2010, compared to the same period in 2009. Full year sales reached $4.2bn, 12.2% higher than 2009.

Advanced Engineering signs for ACR Show

Europe bans HFC23 credits but thieves steal €28.7m

Daikin calls in police over bogus website
JAPANESE air conditioning manufacturer Daikin has contacted police in Australia after the launch of a website which the company says falsely claims to be Daikin Air Australia and New Zealand. Daikin says it considers the website a serious breach of brand, copyright and intellectual property.
