Honeywell launches authorised dealers programme

Honeywell has launched the Honeywell Authorised Dealers programme to help purchasers ensure they are buying refrigerants that comply with the EU’s F-gas regulation, which is aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions related to refrigerants and other materials.

Dr Patrick Amrhein, marketing director for Honeywell Fluorine Products in Europe, Middle East, Africa and India, said: “This programme is part of Honeywell’s ongoing efforts to help customers ensure they are using refrigerants and other materials that comply with this new regulation. By buying from a Honeywell Authorised Dealer, customers can avoid putting their businesses at legal risk of violating the regulation by using an illegal refrigerant.

He added: “Honeywell is continuing to build awareness of the risks and legal consequences of using illegally imported refrigerants, and is working closely with EU authorities to actively prevent illegal imports to the EU market.”

Purchasers of illegally imported refrigerants can face severe fines, audits or even prosecution from EU authorities. The full list of Authorised Dealers selling Honeywell F-gas regulation-compliant refrigerants can be found at www.honeywell-refrigerants.com/europe/authoriseddealers/.

Honeywell estimates that the amount of illegally imported materials into the EU in 2015 accounts for more than 10 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent. This is equal to adding more than 5 million cars on European roads.
