Güntner unveils new Romanian plant

Due to the constantly high workload at the Tata plant in Hungary and the fact that Güntner intends to create further market potential specifically in the range of commercial refrigeration, to open another manufacturing facility was the next logical step.

As part of expansion plans, the Güntner Group has opened a new manufacturing facility in Sibiu (Hermannstadt) in Romania.

Due to the constantly high workload at the Tata plant in Hungary and the fact that Güntner intends to create further market potential specifically in the range of commercial refrigeration, to open another manufacturing facility was the next logical step.

Managing director Robert Gerle said: 'The new Sibiu/Hermannstadt plant in Romania, specifically designed for manufacturing commercial units, allows us not only to satisfy the steadily increasing demand for energy-efficient and low-noise units but also to achieve the required capacities for the production of industrial units at the Tata plant in Hungary.'

The new facility is 18,000sq m and uses state-of-the-art production lines, with a high degree of automation. Test production began in September and the relocation of production for commercial units from Tata to Sibiu/Hermannstadt will take place in spring 2016.

Sibiu/Hermannstadt is one of the most important economic centres of the country and offers a good infrastructure. The new plant is located close to Sibiu International Airport providing excellent connections to Munich, Vienna and other European destinations.
