Climate Center seals reclaimed R22 supply deal

CLIMATE Center now has reclaimed R22 available throughout its nationwide network after signing a supply deal with A-Gas.
Climate Center seals reclaimed R22 supply deal
Climate Center's Robert Franklin said: 'R22 remains a key refrigerant for both air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The availability of certified-quality reclaimed refrigerant will give customers time to plan ahead to replace plant in an orderly and managed way'.

Climate Center is supplying reclaimed R22 in 13kg and 60kg cylinders and prices will be competitive with R22 replacement blends.

The sale and use of virgin R22 was banned across the EU from the start of 2010 but reclaimed R22 can be used until the end of 2014.

In air conditioning alone, it is believed there are between 60,000 and 100,000 systems in the UK still dependent on R22. It is expected demand for reclaimed refrigerant will quickly outstrip supply as the requirement for system top-up grows.

Robert Franklin added: 'It is a finite resource, and we will be keeping a close eye on supply and demand'.
