Beijer Ref to open third UK training academy in Glasgow

Beijer Ref UK will officially open its third training academy in Glasgow on Thursday, 6 November, expanding its national footprint to support engineers with accessible, high-level training. The new site joins existing academies in Wetherby and Preston and forms part of the group’s strategy to ensure no engineer is more than two hours from expert guidance.

The launch event will run from 12noon to 4pm and includes a buffet lunch, allowing attendees of the IOR Scotland Annual Dinner later that evening to visit the facility. Lord William Haughey OBE, Chair of City Facilities Management, will lead the opening ceremony.

Hayley Cattell, Managing Director of Beijer Ref UK, said: “We are always striving to improve industry standards and Glasgow will join our other academies in providing high-quality training on the latest systems. The ultimate target is for no engineer to be more than two hours away from expert guidance.”

The academy will showcase a range of sustainable heating and cooling rigs, including a training room focused on renewable technologies such as CO2 and A2L systems, and a dedicated heat pump area. A 25% discount will be offered on all training courses booked during the event.

Visitors can take part in refrigeration and air conditioning competitions at 2pm and 3pm, with Apple Watches awarded to the winners. Those interested in attending should register via info@beijerrefacademy.co.uk.

The academy is located at 140 St Andrews Road, Glasgow, G41 1PP.
