Bacharach, a leading global manufacturer of refrigerant gas leak detection and monitoring instruments, and combustion and emissions analysers for the HVAC-R industry, has completed the acquisition of Parasense, an industry leader in the development, manufacture and support of refrigeration detection and monitoring equipment for the food retail and military segments of the refrigeration and air conditioning markets.

Bacharach president Doug Keeports said: “Parasense has an exceptional reputation in refrigeration monitoring in the food retail sector and provides integrated energy management systems and remote data management to ensure energy efficiency, food safety, reduced waste and operating costs savings. This aligns well with Bacharach’s strategic plan and focus on market leadership in instrumentation and expertise of refrigerant monitoring,  as well as complementing Bacharach’s strengths in the combustion and emissions analysis markets.

“We are happy to welcome the Parasense team and look forward to continuing to grow our combined businesses.”

Located in Quedgeley, UK, the Parasense manufacturing and design operations are led by managing director Dan Radford and include sales and support resources for their European and export customer base. In North America, Parasense supports their market position with distribution, assembly, service, sales and training in its Stanardsville, Virginia facility under the direction of Michelle Collier, chief operations officer. The combined leadership of Michelle and Dan, along with their staff, brings over 30 years of industry experience to the Bacharach team.

As the management team works to leverage the combined strengths of the two businesses, Parasense and Bacharach will continue to operate business as usual under their existing structure, company name, contacts and customer and supplier interactions to best support mutual ongoing efforts to exceed the expectations of their customers. The combined resources of Bacharach and Parasense will significantly strengthen the company’s ability to provide the best solutions to the worldwide HVAC-R market with fixed and portable gas detection instrumentation and performance monitoring offerings.
