Autech Carrier to supply air conditioning for Brazilian trains

According to a report in the Korea IT Times, Autech Carrier (formerly Carrier Korea) has agreed a joint venture deal with Brazilian company Unicoba, through which it will supply air conditioning for trains operated by the Sao Paulo Metropolitan Train Company (CPTM).
A signing ceremony took place between the two companies on 3 March in Sao Paulo.

Unicoba is a partner firm of IESA Projetos, Equipamentos e Montagens SA, Brazil's major rolling stock manufacturer. Jointly with Unicoba, Autech Carrier will supply 836 industrial-strength air-conditioners to 352 train cars to be provided by IESA to CPTM.

This is Autech Carrier's first overseas order from railroad companies. It is reported that the firm will continue to pursue business opportunities in the railway sector in Brazil and other Latin American countries.
