AC firm buys SIAS maintenance division

AIR CONDITIONING firm Energy Technique has bought the maintenance division of SIAS Building Services, saving some SIAS workers' jobs.
Energy Technique, which manufactures and distributes air conditioning solutions, purchased the SIAS division for an undisclosed sum. The division employs 28 staff and provides air-conditioning maintenance services to hotels and commercial buildings across the UK.

SIAS Building Services went into administration in early August, resulting in 136 job losses. The firm's administrator Deloitte said it has sold assets made up of the SIAS name, goodwill, particular maintenance contracts and related fixed assets.

With headquarters in Crewe, SIAS Building Services had previously received several winding up orders, due partly to its recent rapid growth and losses from contract issues which caused breaches in its banking facilities. Energy Technique's operations include Diffusion Heating and Cooling based in West Molesey, which manufactures fan coils for commercial buildings.
