Donna Louise Children’s Hospice Trust is the company’s nominated charity, providing outstanding levels of treatment and support for children battling terminal illness. To date, the team from TF Solutions and Lawton Tubes has raised £8,000 for the trust by climbing some of the UK’s toughest mountains, including Snowdon and the Three Peaks of Yorkshire.
At 978m (3,209 ft) high, Scafell Pike in the Lake District is England’s highest peak, and the team tackled it from Langdale, which is known as one of the most beautiful but challenging routes. Thanks to remarkably good weather on the day, the team completed the walk to the summit in an impressive 6.5 hours.
Adam Sanderson, operations manager at TF Solutions, said: “Scafell was a much more challenging climb than we expected but we were so lucky to enjoy good weather on the day which made the walk much more enjoyable. We’re absolutely delighted with how much has been raised so far and the donations are still coming in which is fantastic. The hospice offers such incredible support for children with life-limiting conditions and much-needed respite for their families and we are delighted to give our support to this fantastic charity.”
