The Carbon Trust has identified cleaning and maintenance as the largest area for reduction in energy consumption food chain refrigeration. This dwarfs all other areas identified for energy reduction. Night covers achieve 1%; night blinds 4%, LED lighting 7%, transparent doors 8%, whereas cleaning and maintenance realises a 20% margin for energy savings.
“In the UK, refrigerated display cabinets use around 5,800GWh/year. This is over a third of all the electricity used for refrigeration in the food chain and costs around £500m per year…Refrigerated display cases rank number one in areas where energy use can be significantly cut.” (source Carbon Trust)
Correctly maintaining your refrigeration equipment can save you energy and money, as well as reducing downtime. Reduced energy consumption, lower service costs and less plant downtime are the primary effect.
Gel-clear is giving away free refrigeration coil fin combs with all orders for the next 10 weeks.
Gel-clear is a key part of a good, balanced maintenance procedure. Simple, yet effective measures. Just as straightening coil fins during deep clean is important, good PPM is the key to unlocking the 20% savings available.
Using Gel-clear tablets as part of your PPM is proven to reduce water leak call outs by an average of 91.3%. See the website for case studies at http://gel-clear.co.uk/case-studies
