HMS Industrial Networks AB, based in Sweden and a world leading provider of communication technology for industrial automation, has acquired the Spanish firm Intesis Software SL.
Intesis was established in 2000 and its headquarters are in Igualada, near Barcelona. Intesis offers advanced communication gateway solutions and interfaces within the fields of home and building automation. Representing the vast majority of sales, the company’s building automation solution is marketed as IntesisBox. The company works closely with many major manufacturers of building automation systems and air conditioning globally.
Intesis will maintain its current headquarters and will continue to offer products to the market for home and building automation under its brands IntesisBox, IntesisHome and Houseinhand, but from now on with the support, expertise and global resources of HMS.
Ceo of HMS, Staffan Dahlström, said: “Intesis has a strong position in the market for integration solutions for building automation that will complement HMS’s existing industrial gateways offering perfectly. Intesis will give HMS a strong footprint and valuable inroads into the market niche of building automation systems.”
The acquisition was completed on 29 June and HMS Industrial Networks bought 100 per cent of the shares in Intesis from its owners Pedro Lumbreras and José Cerón. Mr Cerón, who is the current ceo of Intesis, will continue to serve the company as its general manager. Meanwhile, Mr Lumbreras will continue to advise Intesis as a consultant.
