Adcock wins Portsmouth tower contract

Adcock Refrigeration and Air Conditioning has won a service and maintenance contract at the Emirates Spinnaker Tower in Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth.

 

Standing at 170m high, the Emirates Spinnaker Tower is one of the UK’s most iconic buildings and is taller than the London Eye, Blackpool Tower and Big Ben.

 

Through the new contract Adcock engineers will maintain the air conditioning and refrigeration systems throughout the tower, including the outdoor units that sit on the roof at the top of the tower. In addition to the staff offices, the company will maintain the air conditioning and refrigeration services on the two indoor viewing decks, ground floor restaurant the level 2 café, including the -4° cold room and -18° freezer room.

 

The two indoor viewing decks, which give panoramic 350° views around Portsmouth Harbour and the Solent, require both cooling and dehumidification to prevent the glass from steaming up.
