GERMANY: Fan and motor manufacturer Ziehl-Abegg achieved its highest ever sales in 2012 despite the difficult global economic situation.
The company, based in Kunzelsau, southern Germany, generated sales of EUR371m last year, according to the latest financial figures - a 4% increase on last year.
The record sales go hand in hand with the increase in the number of employees to 3150.
In order to cope with the increased business and extra staff, the company's drive division will be transferred to a new EUR24m building now under construction at an existing site in Gewerbepar, Hohenlohe.
'Ziehl-Abegg is bursting at the seams in the Künzelsau headquarters,' commented chairman Peter Fenkl.
