ZETACOOL has been appointed as the UK distributor for Chinese manufacturer Midea's complete range of air conditioning equipment.
The product range includes portables, single and multi-splits, three-pipe Digital scroll and chillers amongst a wide range of equipment from Midea.

The two companies have had a trading relationship since 2003.

Chris Petri, managing director of Zetacool said: 'We have kept our trading relationship low key for the past six years or so because both companies wanted to be totally confident that we could offer both quality products and first class support before rolling out into the UK market'.

'We have tested and re-tested our systems to find them totally robust. For example, we have handled installations in Africa and southern Europe from the UK and we have also worked with a blue chip high street retailer who has very demanding standards', added Petri.

Midea is also putting its own people into the UK. Project manager Michael Sung is heading up the operation on its behalf from Zetacool's Reigate office. He has spent the past year learning about the UK market and briefing Midea's research and development team on products which best suit this country.

Sung said: 'We are developing products specifically for the UK in conjunction with Zetacool. We have people on the ground and the past six years has been a gradual and successful learning curve.'

One new product range, developed as a result of this partnership is the MGA chiller range fitted with Copeland's Digital compressors to enable the system to operate at just 5% of full load.

The Zetacool sales policy is to sell only to established UK contractors or distributors. The company does not install and any enquiries for installation works will be passed to their authorised dealers. The company has invested in £750,000 worth of stock including a full inventory of spares.

Established in 1968, the Midea Group currently has 70,000 employees and a dozen brands. In addition to its headquarters in the Guangdong Province, the company has ten major production bases.
