WR REFRIGERATION has achieved City & Guilds accreditation for 2079 Refrigerant Safe Handling as a training provider, and claims to be the first commercial refrigeration contractor to do so.
The accreditation gives a seal of approval to the company's Birmingham training facility which includes training apparatus such as a mini-supermarket operating on carbon dioxide.
WR now has the go-ahead to train its 300+ engineers under the 2079 scheme and as a commercial training provider can start training other companies.
Certification under the scheme is a key requirement under the F-Gas Regulation.
Patrick Mullins, WR's business development and marketing director, said: 'We are delighted to have achieved City and Guilds' approval.
'Many thousands of engineers have to be trained and certificated over the coming year. There simply isn't the capacity in the UK training sector to achieve this in the timeframe. Our newly accredited Birmingham training centre is ideally placed to offer this service to companies across the country.'
