Women in RACHP reaches milestone membership

Since its formation two years ago, the Women in RACHP network has been well-received by industry and has recently seen its membership reach a total of 600.

The RACHP industry’s commitment to increasing diversity has been shown through the success of the growing network, which welcomes both men and women from within the sector.

As well as offering support and mentoring to those already working within industry, the Women in RACHP group also aims to help with the promotion of the RACHP sector to youngsters, to tackle the impending skills gap.

In March, the group held a networking breakfast to address both this topic and the representation of women within the RACHP sector, uniting education and industry for a morning of seminars and debates.

On the subject of the group’s recent milestone, chair of Women in RACHP Samantha Buckell said: “I am thrilled that we have reached 600 members. We have had such great feedback and enthusiasm from people all over the industry since I became chair of Women in RACHP.

“More people joining colleagues in discussion and prepared to help our industry become more diverse in the future, and stronger because of that, is very encouraging.”

Institute of Refrigeration (IOR) president Stephen Gill added: “I’m absolutely delighted to hear that the membership of the LinkedIn Women in RACHP group now exceeds 600 and is still growing.

“We welcome members from all parts of the globe and this adds to the rich diversity of the group. The group serves to share news items and even notifications, but what I personally find interesting is the shared experiences of women working in this sector in all manner of roles.

“The large number of group members and the level of interest has surprised some people, but has also opened the eyes of some to the fantastic career opportunities offered by the RACHP industry to women, as well as the unique challenges that they face working within it in and during their careers.”

Although the network’s growing membership is a clear reflection of its success, the Women in RACHP group has called for feedback from its members. To join the group or provide feedback, visit: www.linkedin.com/groups/8521148/profile
