WALTER Meier (Climate UK) Ltd, is to be purchased by Italian air conditioning and heat pump manufacturer Climaveneta. A subsidiary of the Swiss humidification group Walter Meier AG, the Solihull-based UK company is also a major distributor of Hitachi chillers.
A statement by the Swiss parent company this morning said the move was part of the Group’s strategy of focusing on its climate wholesale business in Switzerland, Germany and Austria and of focusing on the humidification business in the global markets. In April this year, Walter Meier strengthened its position in the humidification market by purchasing JS Humidifiers, the UK market leader in the sector.

Walter Meier (Climate UK) employs around 50 staff and achieved sales of around £9.8m in 2010.
