WALTER MEIER (Climate UK) is to focus on applied air conditioning systems and will stop supplying single split systems at the price-driven end of the market.
The company has witnessed a 26% rise in the sales of applied air conditioning systems in the last year and says this has strengthened the firm's resolve to concentrate on applied air conditioning and humidification products.
Walter Meier is to stop supplying single split system air conditioners except where 'single splits for specific areas form part of an integrated engineered solution'.
Managing director Mike Slattery said “The UK single split system market has now evolved to a point where added value engineering support is less important than price and this is at odds with Walter Meier’s group strategy.
He added “We are, however, ideally placed to add value to applied air conditioning projects where our expertise proves invaluable to both specifiers and contractors. For that reason we are now concentrating on our core business of VRF, humidification, chillers and hydronic systems – as well as our rapidly expanding after sales and spare parts operation'.
