WALTER Meier has acquired ML System, the Danish specialist in direct room humidification.
With its third acquisition in the commercial and industrial humidification sector Walter Meier will boost its presence in Scandinavia with the acquisition of ML System.
The move follows the sale of Walter Meier's Climate UK distribution business in May to Italian air conditioning and heat pump manufacturer Climaveneta, as part of its global expansion strategy and focus on northern Europe.
CEO Silvan G.-R. Meier said: 'ML System is virtually the perfect complement to our existing activities in direct room humidification with Draabe - whereas Draabe is particularly strong in continental Europe, ML System is mainly focused on Scandinavia and the USA.'
The acquisiton will also give Walter Meier further impetus for its market expansion in evaporative cooling, as the air humidification systems produced by ML System can also be used in summer for energy-efficient cooling.
ML System initially produced humidification systems for horticulture but now also offers solutions for many other industries, including packaging, plastics and electronics. Another key target market is the fruit and vegetables sections of supermarkets, where the top hygiene standards guaranteed by ML System are in demand.
ML System provides complete consultancy, assembly and service solutions for humidification systems and has around 40 employees in Ry (Denmark) and Sturtevant, Wisconsin (USA).
