UK ac sales continue to rise

THE UK air conditioning market is expected to increase by 3% this year to £675.6m, according to a new report by market analysts MBD.
Sales are expected to see an overall growth of 7% in real terms by 2011, reaching £725.6m (at 2006 prices). Annual growth is expected to be relatively consistent over the forecast period at between 1% and 2% in each year. Much of this growth is expected to be attributed to new construction activity.

Sales of packaged equipment are also expected to increase by 7% in real terms between 2006 and 2011, reaching £381.2m.
Sales of central plant are also expected to increase year-on-year during the forecast period, achieving overall growth of 8% in real terms between 2006 and 2011.
