Toshiba launches nationwide R22 data collection initiative

General manager of Toshiba Air Conditioning, David Dunn, said: “We believe there are a significant number of air conditioning systems still operating on R22 across the country. End users may be unaware of their exposure following the final phase-out of R22 for service use at the end of the last year.

Toshiba Air Conditioning is launching an R22 data collection initiative to assess the number and type of R22 systems still operational across the UK and Ireland.

It is inviting feedback from contractors, installers, end users and consultants and to encourage as much feedback as possible, it is offering participants the chance to win tickets for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

The tournament is the world’s third largest sporting event after the Olympics and Football World Cup and is being hosted later this year by England, with Toshiba as a main sponsor.

General manager of Toshiba Air Conditioning, David Dunn, said: “We believe there are a significant number of air conditioning systems still operating on R22 across the country. End users may be unaware of their exposure following the final phase-out of R22 for service use at the end of the last year.

“The aim of the data collection initiative is to provide an objective measure of the scale of the problem, and enable us to support users whose equipment –  which may be cooling critical infrastructure as well as buildings – is effectively obsolete and could present a major problem in the future.”

There will be three ticket draws, one on the last working day in January, then again in February and March. Each monthly winner will each receive two tickets for one of the World Cup games during 2015.
