Thermatic is a carbon hero

Thermatic, a building engineering services company that works across the UK and Ireland founded in 1971, has been awarded the Manchester Carbon Hero Award for of its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint.

This was awarded by MPostcode.co.uk in recognition of Thermatic’s innovation, technology, green initiatives and recycling schemes.

The company currently uses Internet of Things (IoT) solutions within its head office to help it set a steady temperature throughout the building. Thermatic also offers IoT solutions to its customers to help them to reduce their own carbon footprint too.

Thermatic has implemented end of life recycling processes with all electronics, ensuring it disposes of all electronics in a way that means it recycles every part of the equipment possible.

The company also has recycling bins throughout the head office, where staff can recycle plastics, glass, metal, and cardboard – this also includes a paper recycling scheme which is collected every two weeks.

Every member of staff has been supplied with reusable water bottles to reduce one-time plastic use as well as being issued a ‘gym bag’ to reduce plastic bag usage.

Sofie Hartley of Thermatic commented: “We’re always looking for new innovative ways to reduce our carbon footprint, no matter how small to do our part for the environment.”
