The Building Controls Show puts the smart heart of buildings first

Now in its fifth year, the Building Controls Show will take place Sandown Park on 21 and 22 October.

As part of the event seminar programme, Stacey Lucas, Commercial Director at Sontay will be running an informative presentation on smart communication protocols from 11.15-12pm on Thursday 22 October.

“Smart communication protocols are becoming ever prominent in the building controls industry,” commented Ms Lucas. “My presentation will explore the benefits of using smart communicating products in installations, the different protocols available and their suited applications along with a comparison of applications using standard communication and smart protocols. The industry is changing at a rapid pace and system integrators, consultants and end-users need to keep up with the new developments. That is why the Building Controls Show is the ideal place for us to showcase our latest products for the HVAC and climate control industry.”

The BCIA will also be holding its annual members meeting on the second day of the Building Controls Show (Thursday 22 October).

Prior to this president Steve Harrison will be holding a talk in the seminar theatre looking at key influences on the market for controls and the BCIA’s work in promoting the benefits of BEMS.

Sontay, a market leader in field control devices, will be exhibiting a number of innovative new products including its Smart Sensor and the latest additions to the SonNet wireless solution on stand 12.

Kevin Taylor, managing director, Innotech Europe said: “This will be our third year exhibiting at the Building Controls Show. We like the nature of a show that is dedicated to the controls industry and last year there was significant interest in our Omni product, which at the time was still just a picture on our wall.  This year we will have live equipment and a lot more to tell everyone.”

Alan Hickman, managing director, Carlo Gavazzi UK added: “The Building Controls Show has always been a resounding success for both manufacturers and visitors. It’s a great opportunity to meet people wanting to embrace the latest in building automation and energy management technology, demonstrating the closing gap between metering and building management.

He continued: “Meeting all the demands of intelligent buildings depends on the flexibility and intelligence of the infrastructure keeping up the pace of change and consuming less energy is about getting the technology and strategy right, when this is understood then a building’s performance can be improved and energy usage reduced.”

Commenting on behalf of Vaisala’s marketing team, Mia Kolimaa said: “The Building Controls Show is an ideal forum for Vaisala to demonstrate its new instruments, which have been designed with the building automation industries’ needs in mind, as well as to learn from our customers what they need from us in the future”.

Jackie Rutter is marketing manager for Linear Technology. She said: “Linear Technology Corporation is exhibiting for the first time with Alpha Micro, promoting the Dust Networks product range that lead the way in wireless sensor networking.”

Distech Controls is to hold an exclusive product launch in the Seminar Theatre at 3.10pm on Wednesday 21 October. Mathieu Houle, sales and technical support director at Distech Controls will be doing a live presentation of the new ECLYPSE Connected System Controller at the Building Controls Show. With more than 17 years of experience in the building automation industry, he will delve into the IoT world by sharing with you the ECLYPSE Experience.
